B

Backlight Dimming

  • Q: Why does the backlight always stay on?
    • A: NRGZ usually defaults to having the auto dimming functionality disabled. As such, the LCD will stay on and usually at the brightest settings set by NRGZ by default.
  • Q: Why does the backlight seem to dim after 10 seconds even after I set the backlight timeout period to some other value?
    • A: If you have used the default Windows lockscreen or installed a third party application that modified the lockscreen and/or dimming values, even if you have turned them off or uninstalled, for some unknown circumstances Windows Mobile may continue to reset the dimming timeout to 10 seconds.
      • Resolution: edit the following registry entry "\HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\LockLevel"
      • Rename "LockLevel" to "LockLevelx" (add an x to the end of the folder's name) XDA Reference. Then soft reset.

Boost Mobile

Energy ROMs on Sprint TP2 units do work with Boost Mobile.

  • Q: what works "out of the box"?
    • A: dialing, EPST, and GetMSL (with the CDMA dialer)
  • Q: how do I get data (Internet) to work?
    • A: you must update your data profile if it is your first time to use the device on the Boost (Sprint) network
  • Q: how do I get MMS to work?

C

CABS

Q: Where do I get them for download? A: See "P" Paperclip

Carrier Provisioning

  • Default = Sprint, you don't need to do anything. However, if you run into texting issues or need ## codes you must run it. Advised to do so in settings.
  • If on Verizon you have to go into settings & run the Verizon provisioning cab.
  • Can I auto provision the carrier with XDA_UC? Yes, see this thread for a solution

Cookie Home Tab (CHT) 1.8.5 vs 2.0

2.0 seems to still have more problems than 1.8.5 Known issues:

  • Icons not staying put on the menus
  • SOD see also "S"
  • freezing & locking up

Solutions

  • Icons are spaced too close together, too much stuff crammed onto home screen, overlapping.
  • Take "Tasks" off the main home screen
  • Revert to non-cookie ROM or an older version

Conference Calls

  • Q: What happened to the conference call button?
    • A: Stock Sprint and Verizon CDMA dialers do not have a dedicated conference call button/icon.
    • A: Due to CDMA limitations, you can only make "3 way" calls on CDMA carrier networks.
  • Q: How do I make a 3 way call?
    • A: Make your first call, then tap the "Flash" key. Select your contact or dial the number for your second call. Press your hard TALK key (SEND) to initate the 2nd call. Tap FLASH icon to connect all 3 calls.

Cookie Home Tab (CHT) 1.8.5

Cookie Home Tab (CHT) 2.0.0.0

  1. Quick links disappearing or randomly changing on CHT 2.0.0.0 Final Release.
    1. This is a known issue and currently has no resolution. A workaround is to restore/load a known working .CHT settings file via CHTEditor.
    2. Reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9378168&highlight=disappearing#post9378168
  2. Why does Sense and CHT2000 keep restarting on the any of NRGZ's Cookie 2.0 ROMs?
    1. check if the task widget is active on any of the home screens (double check *all* CHT home screens), there is a known bug with this widget that will cause random restarts of Sense+CHT2
    2. Resolution: remove the task widget if used. See the CHT2000 thread @ XDA for more information
  3. Other known issues: See CHT 2.0.0.0 Final thread post #3
    1. Reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8319889&postcount=3

Cookie Home Tab Editor (CHTE) 2.0.0.0

  1. Importing from the command line (example is "\Program Files\CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe /IMPORT EXAMPLE.CHT"), via MortScripts or through XDA_UC on NRGZ ROMs, may fail to load all settings such as PageLevels.
    1. Solutions are to do a manual import through the CHTE UI or use Mortscript to automate the UI process.
    2. Reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10956878&postcount=395
  2. Automating an import through the CHTE UI with a Mortscript is now possible with a MSCR script written by powinmo
    1. This is a temporary solution to the command line importing issue.

Data Connection

To setup or update your carrier access due to an error, see section "Profile"

  • This includes some Data and/or Internet access errors such as "Error 67" for Sprint users.

DDTM

Send voice calls to voicemail during active data connection. (tethering, wifi router)

A: Settings, Phone, >, >(CDMA Services), (arrow down to) DDTM mode, Get settings, On/Off

Dialer / Phone Canvas

  • CDMA stock dialer has been used in Energy ROMs til Feb.27.2011.
  • Leo GSM dialer mod was baked in to Energy ROMs from March.6.2011 to March.30.2011 to provide contact picture functionality from the HD2 ROMs, and it is likely baked in thereafter unless otherwise specified
    • GSM dialers prevent access to certain advanced CDMA functions (see MSL section)
    • Landscape support has rotation and keypad icon placement issues
    • You must use Leo dialer themes. Do NOT use Sprint/Verizon dialer themes with this dialer.
  • Sprint MR1 CDMA stock dialer is used in ROMs from April.8.2011 onwards to resolve the BT hangup issue (used in conjunction with the Sprint MR1 BT stack)
  • Q: Can I use the Leo dialer mod cab file (to get contact pictures working) found in the forums with the CDMA stock dialer? A: Yes, however, see this post about potential issues.

DRM

  • What is DRM?
    • "Digital rights management is a windows media thing that allows you to download time stamped book and such from web sites like amazon and Audio.com . Its just like your library, you down load and listen and 7 -14 days later it expires and won't play anymore."
  • Is DRM not working a custom ROM problem?
    • "This is not a rom thing, the build being used has to have DRM activated in the version of windows media player they are using. Microsoft has been very delinquent in activating it in the 6.5 builds."
  • What ROMs support DRM? Try some ROM's from summer & September 2010

E

EPST ## codes

  • How to enable: START MENU->TOOLS->CARRIER PROVISIONING. Select your phone company, and tap APPLY.
  • Possible codes entered via the phone dialer:
##778# - EPST - Advanced Programming
##786# - EPST - Reverse Logistic
##4772579# - RESETs
##37872# - Full Speed USB Mode - Enable/Disable

##3386# - DDTM - Enable/Disable
##33284# - ##DEBUG# Debug - FieldTrial Debug Info
##3424# - DMR - PORT INFO
##326454#
  • Why is there a long delay in the EPST application starting up on Sprint TP2 units?
    • Check if you have the Energy Sprint Provisioning cab installed. On ROMs after March 2011, NRGZ defaults to full Sprint Provisioning and having the the cab installed can cause EPST.exe to not launch properly. Remove the cab and perform a soft reset to resolve.

Field Trail, measure your reception, signal, bars, strength

  • Run fieldtrial.exe or ##debug#
  • 8th line down: Rx Power

  • Bad -95 to -100 and above
  • OK: -85 to -95 dbm
  • Norm: -70-85 dbm
  • Good: -60 to -70
  • Great: -52 to -60
  • Best/almost impossible: -47 to -52

Flashing: How do I? I downloaded the ROM and clicked the exe. and nothing happens

A: You have to DL (download) all Energy ROM's to your PC/Laptop, then expand the compressed file (7 zip), then plug in your TP2 via USB first! If you have never put a custom ROM on your TP2 before, click here: [1]

Flash a ROM from my SD card?

A: 7 zip the file to a folder. after unpacked, you will see a file named "RHODIMG.nbh" copy and past to the root of your sd card. pull the battery, put it back in, vol down + power gets you to boot screen and it will flash from there. task 29 or do whatever mojo you do prior to flashing from sd

FM Radio

There is no FM Radio support for all CDMA Touch Pro2's. Purportedly, CDMA TP2's do not have FM Radio hardware support in the Broadcom Bluetooth chipset. As such the FM Radio application will not work.

Fonts

NRGZ uses custom fonts in his ROMs. If you are having problems using third party font solutions (like KD-Fonts):

  • "...You have to revert to the stock fonts BEFORE you start messing with fonts. Most font changing apps dont take into account custom fonts..." (NRGZ)
  • Install NRGZ's patch cab to restore back to the stock Tahoma font (NRGZ changed from stock to Calibri)
  • Reference Post

G

H

Home shortcut / icon

  • Using alternative Start Menus (eg, Panel) may not have a shortcut to get to the "Home" screen in the Sense UI. Please see post 29975 for discussion on how to create one.
    • NRGZ has a shortcut called "\Windows\_Today.lnk" baked on the ROMs - this will launch the control panel settings for the main "Today" screen, not the Sense UI Home Page.
    • Terminology for "Home Page" with ROMs using the Sense UI refer to the main or "Home" tab.

Hotfile

NRGZ uses Hotfile.com to host his most current ROMs.

  • Q: Are there alternative download locations other than Hotfile?
    • A: No as of April 2011
  • Q: Hotfile downloading aborts prematurely, what are possible solutions?
  • Q: I get a message "Your download expired, try again" trying to download.
    • A: Clear your browser's cache and cookies for hotfile, refresh the hotfile page and restart the download.

K

Keyboard: Why are my : & / keys mixed up?

  • If you are on a non Sprint phone, such as Verizon, you have to run your carrier (verizon) provisioning: program/tools/carrier settings
  • NRGZ28 defaults to the Sprint keyboard layout.
  • Alternative: Verizon users run this cab, from here (paperclip)

Keyboard (Onscreen/softkey):

If I hit the button to get the onscreen keyboard button, how do I get the onscreen keyboard off the screen again? Hitting the button again just brings up the keyboard selection screen.

A: Tap below screen keyboard button (in the slider area, off of screen) Also: tap the left side. Tap the right side, the SIP menu comes up.

Keyboard: pop up automatically

Hit reply and it brings up the screen to reply to the message. A: You control this in Advanced Config program in start/tools, set the keyboard to automatically popup in ANY text input field.

Keyboard: Map keys

L

Lockscreen alternatives

Lockscreen in CHT v1.8.5 and v2.0.0.0 final has various known issues that can be found in their individual threads on XDA. It is suggested NOT to use the CHT lockscreens.

M

Memory: Keep getting low memory message

A: Start Menu Replacement: ~25MB more RAM look in settings & use the start menu layout switch to change to Panel, CSM or Sense startmenu. [[2]] read step VII.

A2: Home (Today Screen) Menu Replacements (for Sense & Cookie): ~25MB more RAM Uncheck sense in settings, home, >> items, and check Titanium, OR nothing & use the winkey to start your programs, OR choose a Sense/home/today replacement. (you need to DL them first & run the cab.. what are they?

  • TouchXperiance: http://wmphones.co.uk/touchxperience...mobile-phones/
  • SPB (30 days free),
  • Titanium (stock windows... settings, home, >>items, uncheck all but titanium)
  • Easy Today (search xda)
  • IPT (xda)
  • Reference ROM = Sense but no cookie
  • None, DL old today screen menus from 3 years ago... & use the start key or Qmenu!

A3: Prior to flashing new ROM, Use Page Pool exe included in most Energy ROM's to set it lower. 10-12 should be a good start for you. More on setting Page Pool, See "P" below.

Microphone

Q: The person on the other end of my call has trouble hearing me.

A: This is likely NOT a problem with Energy ROMs. Perform a soft reset as a precaution. Try flashing back to your carrier's stock ROM to confirm a possible hardware Microphone issue.

MicroSoft Voice Command (MSVC)

Q: Can I use MSVC with Energy ROMs? A: Yes. It is recommended to use the version found in the Voice Commands section

Mirrors

  • Mirrors host alternative download locations for older/archived Energy ROMs.
    • NRGZ has specifically requested that no one mirror current ROMs.
    • NRGZ does not maintain any mirrors for archived ROMs. As he uploads new ROMs to his hotfile repositories, older ROMs are removed.
  • Private users can mirror archived ROMs to provide for fall back in the event a current ROM has issues. There are no known public mirrors, though a search of the thread may find ones that are still active.
  • Etiquette for requesting an archived ROM is to post a friendly request in the thread and only PM a user for an older ROM if invited to do so.

MMS: Why is MMS not working? (picture mail)

A: DL (down load) & run Boesh MMS cab in paperclip. New 21684 ROMs may have this either built into ROM or the provisioning file. How do you know? "If it works, don't fix it"

MMS pics limited to 1 MB?

  1. #27544 Kiowa: cab named "sprint arcsoft mms 5mb size" to change from 1mb to 5mb *tbc, link needed
  2. The 5mb limit cab is now included in Sprint provisioning in Nov 8th rom and later
  3. Update as of January 26, 2011: powinmo created, "energy_sprint.cab" provisioning cab to incorporate the boushh arcsoft MMS registry updates. Available in thread paperclip. Please see post #29976 for more information

MMS from HTC Album: Insert picture is sometimes greyed out...

Q: Looking at a picture (full screen) in the htc album, if you click send to: Messages, it just opens up a standard txt msg.... not a picture mail with the photo already attached. Further: after it opens up the standard txt msg, it's now one of the times you cant insert photo cause it's greyed out.

A: #27629 To send a mms when looking at a picture (full screen), choose e-mail and not messages. Once the next screen appears, choose arcsoft mms picture (I'm assuming nrg cookes arcsoft into the ROM). It will then open arcsoft with the picture inserted for you.

MortScript

Mortscript was upgraded from version 4.2 to version 4.3b15 (the last known release) in the May 2011 Energy ROMs.

  • A potential side effect is that old scripts that perform certain types of version checks may fail. eg, Mortscript must be version 4.2 or older. Resolution is to find a newer version of your script or edit the script to comment out the version check code.

MSL

Q: How do I get my MSL (password in some cases)?

Q: I clicked on PRL, it ask for password...?? What password and where do I get it?

A: Get your MSL code (the password).

Sprint: Grab MSL
Verizon: The code is always 000000.
USCC & Others:
  • Grab MSL above is suppose to work
  • Also: This says Sprint, but doesn't appear to work with Sprint, it does work with others. Get your MSL

(**see PRL)

  • Q: I installed the Grab MSL tool, why is not working?
    • A: If you are using Energy ROMs from March 2011, those have the Leo GSM dialer baked in and do not allow full CDMA advanced features to generate the xMSL diagnostic codes. Please use an older ROM or flash the stock Sprint MR1 ROM to temporarily obtain the MSL via the Grab MSL tool. Then flash to a newer preferred ROM, or until a CDMA dialer is baked back in new ROMs.

O

Outlook Contacts

  • ROMs from approximately Dec.27.2010 to current (Feb.1.2011) have an issue with the Windows Mobile Outlook Contacts application. The user buttons are "dark red contact card highlights" making them difficult to view.

  1. Changer Tool
    1. Cannot change the page pool dynamically. Meaning, you cannot change the PP on the phone after it is flashed.
    2. Can only be changed on the NBH ROM file prior to flashing.
    3. NRGZ has packaged the pagepool_changer.exe tool with his ROMs since mid 2010. The tool should be avaialble when the .7z ROM file is fully extracted. The tool can also be found in the Paperclip.

  • 64mb= 25MB free out of 135 (drop of 32 on 32 change)
  • 0mb = 60MB free dynamically allocate! (RAM similar to pp of 30 super fast) MUST use with Start menu &/or home/today replacement menu

More Info: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-touch-pro-2/139225-dream-phone-mini-guide.html

NRGZ sets a default Page Pool Size. The size has varied from ROM to ROM, but generally is from 18 to 22. Use the Page Pool Changer tool to check a ROMs PP size and adjust as needed.

Gives the radio a list of preferred cell towers, the newest towers on which to roam. [3][4]

Find your version: start(winkey), settings, system, device info

To update Profile & PRL: (ROM flash doesn’t do it)

Sprint: DL & run (extract) anyone of these cabs from the "paperclip". (no need for MSL to run these)

After install of .cab file, you'll find the program icon either A. under settings, B. in programs (maybe even tools folder) C. or in file explorer under programs directory

Verizon & USCC:

  • Dial *228 OR
  • DL ninja duck tools cab contains PRL, Profile, fieldtrial, etc.(paperclip, but it requires your MSL) MSL code is always 000000 on Verizon.

Profile

The profile update is to sync your phone provisioning with the actual provisioning on the account for data services. If your internet does not work, sometimes running profile update may fix it. It resends your username, ip address, etc from sprint to your phone. New phone and the internet doesn't work.. update profile, it seems to fix the problem.. also whenever you update or change information on Sprint account.

How to update: Same as PRL above.

Problems with ROM?

If you are having issues with flashing a new ROM please consider these items first!

  1. Download of ROM was bad, it happens: re-download.
  2. The flash process was bad, it happens: Reflash it.
  3. Old ROM stuff didn't get cleaned out & messes up the new ROM, it happens: Please backup your stuff, wipe data (settings), task29, wipe again, reflash ROM.
  4. DON'T overclock, use/modify lockscreens, install any cabs, or restore anybackups temporarily.
  5. Try the ROM for a few hours as is to see if you are still having any issues. If not, add one by one and check. These items have been known to cause issues. Usually the problem is not the ROM!

If you are still not satisfied after the 1st 3 items above:

  1. DL & flash a 21xxx ROM (6.5.1 X & winkey on top, typically less issues
  2. DL & flash a ROM without cookie (post 3)
  3. DL & flash a no sense ROM Post 3 titanium.

This will progressively allow you to trouble shoot & ID your issue, post your results in the forum & ask for help. (21xxx,no cookie, no sense, no cabs)

  • In short, re-download, task29, reflash, restore only contacts, use it for a few hours. If no problems, then load your .cab files one by one until you identify which one is breaking the ROM.
  • If running a Cookie ROM, see "C" cookie below for additional issues/fixes (tasks, icons too close)

Proximity Sensor

  • Location of the sensor: Top left, between the top right corner of the c in "htc", and your charging light... a big circle, you can actually see it with a VERY bright light or by pushing in slightly with your thumb nail. [by teradog]
  • If the LCD fails to turn off when having the device to your ear or when placed face down, see if you have the sensor covered due to your case or a bad screen protector

Q

Quick Menu

Quickmenu is already supported on Energy ROMs from mid 2010 onwards. See the Start Menu Replacements section.

  • Q: How do I keep the up and down scroll arrows from appearing and have the "More..." option at the bottom of each listing?
    • A: NRGZ defaults the menu spacing at 12, which causes the "More..." selection to require the scroll arrows
      • Quick Menu does not appear to always compute the properly display values when the edge spacing differs
    • A: Set the Edge Spacing to either "8" for smaller text or "16" for extra spacing.

R

Radio

Current = Verizon 2.37.00WV #29908

Works for Sprint also. Flash Radio exactly like a ROM. DL, unzip, usb tp2, sync OR 3key bootloader mode (hold power & vol down, push reset... keep holding until multicolor screen comes up), run ruu on PC, wait until it finishes, reboots, done.

OK to do this right on top of your current ROM & build, it shouldn't wipe any data or change your current ROM setup, but as always, you should have a good backup first.

Find your version: winkey (start), settings, system, device info

Ring Tones

  • Why does the ring tone only play through my Bluetooth headset when I have the option in Comm Manager->Bluetooth->Advanced->Play sounds through headset DISABLED?
    • if your headset has both the hands free profile (HFP) and A2DP, recent NRGZ ROMs from 2011 will default and route ring tones to only play through the BT headset due to the A2DP profile
    • Possible solutions:
      • Use LongView's BTAG tool (per LongView's permission)
      • Set this registry entry that totally disables audio gateway options to the BT headset: "SupportedFeatures"=dword:0000000

SOD

"Sleep of Death", "Screen of Death", or "Screen On Delay" Possible Solutions:

  • Lockscreen issues. Remove & try without a lockscreen for a while.
  • Remove or slow down your overclocking.
  • If Sense seems to "freeze", try turning the screen off/on (pressing the power button). This usually works to bring Sense back to life.
  • Possibly due to OCT1.5. I tried OCT recently and saw that (it's a known issue in the OCT thread). Went back to OC_Auto and no more SOD"
  • Update ROM, some Windows OS version are more prone to SOD.

SLOW: Regardless of the ROM I use, it always ends up slowing down.

A: #27415 tbc Large files of text, twitter, mail: DELETE some, move to SD card...

A2: Over 100 text messages has been a reported trigger, no known cause yet, delete older text msgs for now.

SD Card issues

  • Delete: Storage Card\Application Data\HTC folder before or after burning a new ROM.. OR, right now if you're having issues with stuff!!

Snooze Options

In ROMs with the Sense UI, HTC has removed the ability to select individual snooze options (eg, 30 minutes or 1 hour snooze) from the Sense UI.

  • When an alarm is triggered (eg, clock or calendar entry), you are only provided two options: (1) DISMISS or (2) SNOOZE in the softkey menu area.
  • The default snooze period by HTC is 5 minutes and is not exposed for modification via a configuration or registry option.

A couple methods to provide for additional snooze options:

  1. Use the "BsB Tweaks" tool that is baked in to all Energy ROMs.
    • Go to: START MENU -> TOOLS -> BsB Tweaks
    • Scroll to "Windows Notifications" and turn ON. This will require a soft reset (reboot), which BsB Tweaks will prompt if you would like to do so when you quit the tool.
  2. Search for "snooze" in the Paperclip. There are a few snooze CAB files that can be used and installed manually. Use one of these CABs in XDA_UC/S4X to provide for post flash automated installation.

(Need to confirm what Titanium (ROM without HTC Sense) has for the snooze options)

Start Menu Replacements (~25MB more RAM, also see "Memory")

Energy ROM's now have 5 start menu optionsbuilt into each ROM, 3 of which give you at least 90 MB of FREE RAM!! Pre SMLS Start Menu Reference

"Start Menu Layout Switch (SMLS): start(winkey), settings, start menu layout switch

  1. Normal: 73 MB free *default with NRG's great signature startup menu
  2. List View: 72 MB free
  3. Panel**: 97 MB free
  4. CSM**: 95 MB free (Compact Start Menu... quick menu w/ mods)
  5. Sense**: 97 MB free
  • Posted memory (RAM) free above is only meant to show the difference BETWEEN the selections. They are from a different ROM & your results will vary greatly based on the ROM (6.5.1 vs 6.5.3, Sense vs Titanium, Cookie vs non-cookie, 28xxx vs 29xxx vs 23xxx, etc.)

TETHERING ... USB tethering not working

  • Install SIM card, works most of time
  • Select "Sprint" instead of none for USB insettings #25618[[5]]
  • 1. plug your phone into the computer. 2. select "Internet Sharing" from the 3 options on the phone 3. wait a minute to see if WMDC opens, if it does close it. 4. select "connect" lower left on the phone.
  • When I try to tether, it just says "check usb cable connection". The cable is connected so I have no idea what is wrong...any thoughts?

--> go to wireless controls and turn off data connection first.

  • Disconnect data first, try again

U

Unlockers

1. To Flash a custom ROM

  • Hard SPL: Both Sprint & Verizon need this free unlocker BEFORE flashing a custom ROM. MANDATORY: MUST FIRST ensure TP2 is synced to an internet connected PC with Anti Virus turned off (or ignore any warnings).

2. TO USE A U.S. SIM ON A U.S. GSM NETWORK in a CDMA TP2

  • Sprint
SIM=unlocked, Radio=locked
SIM's are unlocked, needs: "Security (Radio) unlocker" (this pay program also does CID unlock + the above unrelated free hardspl unlocker for convenience)
SIM(Verizon)/ Security+Radio(Sprint)/ CID), then flash the mandatory patched radio (unlocked = 2.32.00.WU), which enables U.S. SIM (registration) on U.S. GSM networks.
Note: change mode of operation to GSM in settings, set the GSM Network selection to Manual and then select your GSM carrier, if auto doesn't work.

Cmonex gave this great explanation

  • Verizon
SIM=locked, Radio=unlocked
Simply call verizon, they may give you an unlock code (SIM unlocker), then DL & flash the same unlocked radio above.

uTask

This is a application service for "softkeys enhancement for WM6.5.3". Energy ROMs starting in April.26.2011 are using uTask instead of Ameba to handle the "Reassignment of virtual keys such as Windows and X".

  • See the application thread at XDA for additional information
  • Q: Problems with the "X" not closing an application?
    • See the application thread for potential apps with issues. The app author and NRGZ already prefill an exception list with known apps to exclude.
    • A: uTask may need to have it added to the exceptions application list. Click on START MENU -> TOOLS -> X BUTTON SETTINGS. Navigate to the "Exceptions" tab. Tap inside the application list and use your keyboard or SIP to scroll to the bottom of the list, type in your application name. The list itself is editable, there is no "ADD" button.

  • BT hangup issue, also: #27590, also #27596, ... tons of them

NRG: I will need to test this with a device that's actually exhibiting this problem. Anyone wanna send one my way ? Not like you can use it with my ROM at the moment anyway, right ? lol i know.. bad joke..

  • VOLUME: #27575 In a Media app (YouTube, HTC Album, CorePlayer, TCPMP, etc.) and try to change the volume, the volume panel thing comes up and if I have a video going on in the background the part of the video outside of the panel freezes while the video continues playing in that little tiny box thing...on the stock ROM that if I change the volume in Media apps like the ones listed above, a HTC style volume indicator would pop up on the side and the video would continue playing like normal.

Fix?:#27581 I've tried fixing this, but I think I'll need to downgrade the whole multimedia subsystem and go back to the old style "white bars on the side" volume for video overlays. The current, nicely skinned speaker graphic in the middle of screen is pulled from the newer HD2, Oboe and Huashan devices. Obviously their graphics chips (and ulitmately the directx layering system that's responsible for displaying these overlays graphics) is not fully compatible with the TP2. We'll see... BTW if you happen to see a custom ROM that doesn't show this problem (but it uses the new style overlay volume graphics) definitely let me know!

Fix Need to be Tested, waiting on someone to test

  • Fix USB tethering #25620 #27271 #26567

NRG: Should be fixed... but I can't test it... No service on my test device.

  • Fix Quick GPS to auto update when checked. Not working (many, many posts)

Seems to work fine for me and from what I read in the thread it seems to work for other people as well. Is this really that big a deal ? Just update manually when, and if you ever do...

  • not fixed yet
  • Fix contact pics in dialer: Monfro 27471, #27407

I will try to implement a GSM dialer in the ROM to see if it makes this better. I'm getting mixed responses on twitter from people saying they DO get pictures while other people say they don't. I THINK it might be a carrier thing, or maybe people that apply sometime of carrier provisioning cab don't get them anymore. I know for a fact they work fine in a "virgin" ROM.

  • Build in Boush MMS fix cab AND 5mb fix into" carrier provisioning #27543

Added to the kitchen. Although this will definitely make the ROM Sprint specific... Verizon, USC, etc users will have to install cabs or run carrier provisiong.

  • not 5mb fixed yet
  • UPDATE: Works, but running Sprint provisioning sets limit back to 1 MB.***
  • The contact pictures aren't showing up in the list form on my dialer. Monfro #27471 * problem when running 2168x

Un-Fixable or No Solution

  • Fix DRM #25978 #26596 #26402 #26215 #27536 many more...

Unfixable. You'll be hard pressed to find any custom ROM with working DRM... There are reports of Some ROMs working with DRM. June 1st ROM 6.5.x Branch.

  • Fix: Screen won't come back on, multiple pushes needed (#9 above).. #27602, #27559, #27411

SOD while playing music related? #27559 The famous SOD.... Something we have to live with for being on the bleeding edge of WM development.

  • Want keyboard to pop up automatically when i hit reply and it brings up the screen to reply to the message.

You can do this in Advanced Config already, to set the keyboard to automatically popup in ANY text input field. I turn this feature off on all devices with physical keyboards, as I don't see it necessary when you have a physical keyboard. I certainly find it very annoying.... Unfortunately there's no way to specify which app brings the softkeyboard up and which don't. It's either ALL or NONE

  • Fix softkeyboard selection loss on softreset

Unfixable.... Long time WM bug. There's apps that help you work around the problem, but I'm not cooking any one of them in. They're not very 'stable'.

  • Fix phone hangup & lockscreen issues. #27589, #27420 , #27409

I can't fix lockscreen issues with CHT. Just don't use the CHT lockscreen if you want a good running lockscreen... I've said this plenty of times in the past.

Fixed

SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE ROMs

Suggestions (Restricted)

  • Suggest update Titanium ROM's frequently (same as Cookie) ===

Seperate from Maxsense & do it at the same time as the rest of the ROM's for the increasing number of people using a Home/Today (Sense) menu replacement. Most of these users enjoy the bleeding edge!

  • Suggest app update to MaxSense ROM to bring it up to par with the versions on the other ROM's.
